stars?! who pays attention to that shit? I don’t see movies rated on stars. Same with food places.
I go to places that peeps tell me are good — or that look awesome. Who cares about stars?! Pshaw!!!

LOL. I totally agree. In fact, I just posted a long similar comment on Delicious Days. I mean, how do you define “The BEST restaurants in fill-in-the-blank?” It’s just not scientific and too subjective and lies in the hands (and mouths!) of selected few!! To me, the BEST restaurant is where I get the most satisfying experience, so much so that my stomach and myself feel deliriously happy after eating the meal–perhaps it’s that bowl of noodles at a hawker center in Malaysia (I am biased!), or that pho served at Little Saigon, or that mom-and-pop that no critics or writers go to!

I was just complaining about the hotel star rating system! I personally go by our local papers restaurant food inspector reports. Frankly no matter how many stars it has, if I hear that rat droppings were found, meat was stored at improper temperatures or that mold was found in the ice machine, I will not be back.
