The Salty Dog is a great cocktail.
Sources on the proportions vary, but I used a 5:2 ratio (juice to gin) and was pleased with the result: http://www.ginjourney.co.uk/gin-recipes/salty-dog/

I will have to try the Lemon Drop now, sounds like a booze-based version of the sweets.

I want to pickle limes! I wasn't sure if they should be cut open (like preserving lemons) so I went searching and found this Indian recipe:

Ingredients

* Green lime- 6 to 8
* Salt- 100 gms

Rub green lime onto a stone slab with some water, to make the upper skin soft. Now wash and dry it with a cloth. In a clean transparent glass vessel (with lead), pour some salt, then put all the lime without cutting it. Pour remaining salt. Squeeze one lime into the mixture. Cover with a cloth and leave it under sun for a month or so (mix once a while). Lovely, lime salt pickle is ready.

Does that sound right?

Whoa! Where have we been? Late for the party.
This amazing post is perfuming my room of beautiful citrus scents from your fabulous pics! I love everyone of your favorites. My fav is a Salty Chihuahua cocktail (tequila, grapefruit juice, salted rim), woof woof!

We're adding 4 more new citrus trees to the garden next week, come over anytime and pick your heart out!
