A quick post to bring a new site to your attention. It’s called The Food Blog Code Of Ethics and all I can say is Hallelujah! As a professional in the food industry for almost 20 years I always strive to maintain a certain level of professionalism with my blog (even when I’m talking about David’s Thong or Drugs & Alcohol) so I’m thrilled to see this site.
I think we all make the world a nicer place when we hold ourselves responsible and treat others with respect.
Check it out!

I agree–I think it’s a great idea. I think that journalistic integrity in food blogging is definitely an important part of credibility in the food blogging community.
Matt, thank you ever so much for bringing FoodBlogEthics.com to people’s attention. Here’s to holding ourselves up to higher standard!
Personally, I prefer to hide behind my blog. Much more so than I hide behind my swimwear.
Thanks for sharing this! There’s a lot of buzz going around about blogger’s ethics and I think this is just the right time for a Food Blogger’s code.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Sometimes we all need the reminder that a blog is less of a journal, and more of Journalism.
This post also made me realize how much I look forward to your photographs. I anxiously clicked the Feed link and couldn’t stop the incessant tapping of my foot while my ancient PC was loading the site. Alas, no pic. I guess I’ll have to wait till next week….
Thank you for always offering inspiration – with the camera and without.
Finally! Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic idea.
Responsibility, civility, and understanding the power of words are important in any arena.
Now, I just ate at …… and the only thing more atrocious than the utter lack of cleanliness and rudeness of the waitstaff was the inedible likely toxic slop they served at outrageous prices! Should I post the address and name of the restaurant?????
I am totally on board with this.
Looks like a well laid out and fascinating read. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
My code for food blogging is…thou shall not take 40 pictures of raw chicken. It’s worked every time. Great site.
Thanks for this, I checked it out and it’s brilliant. Really excellent sentiment.
Followed your link and had a look; very interesting. Will have to learn more about their ethics.
